What will you do? The development team is in search of a Product Owner who will work closely with business area heads, scrum product teams and other product owners to build, manage and deliver value to the business; which entails: taking responsibility for the product or project life-cycle from concept, customer research and design, release planning through to development, initial support, feedback and improvement. This role will form part of the CIO reporting line, reporting directly to the Projects and Delivery Manager. What will make you successful in this role? A relevant tertiary qualification. Bachelor’s degree or similar Accredited Business Analysis / Product Owner / Project Management / Technical Diploma or Certificates will be advantageous A minimum of 4-5 years working experience Solid Product Owner, Business Analyst, System Analyst or Product Manager experience that focuses on technical operations of products, ideally within an agile financial services company Deep understanding of end-to-end client journeys including sales funnels, client self-service, and claims processes Experience in working with UX/UI teams, digital designers, and development teams Ability to apply data insights, experimentation, and A/B testing to inform decisions Experience with analytics platforms Technical understanding of APIs, mobile app development, and web technologies Exposure to product lifecycle management tools Deliverables Create and maintain the Product Strategy and Roadmap Lead continuous improvement of sales, client service, and claims journeys Use data and insights to validate strategies and inform prioritisation Partner with business subject matter experts (legal, compliance, actuarial, etc.) and cross-functional scrum product teams to elicit, define, clarify and prioritise business requirements Develop and articulate a vision from which a business case for product or process improvement ideas must be developed Define minimum viable products (MVP) for the release of new products, process improvements or projects, with clearly defined growth or value experiments that will be validated by the release Define objectives-driven roadmaps, projects or process improvements in order to drive early and incremental return on investment taking into account the bigger picture and being flexible with regard to changing priorities Manage stakeholder expectations by communicating roadmaps and requirements, negotiating and communicating priorities and timelines, managing change and providing necessary progress feedback Understand technical debt and risk expressed by the Scrum teams: the ability to negotiate the priority of the technical debt with the teams with consideration for the release plan and the ability to articulate the decision to other stakeholders Coordinate, collaborate and align with other Product Owners on prioritised work Manage multiple backlogs and prioritise work accordingly to the relevant team Support product release & usage by producing training material for new tech and ensuring that users are adapting to the product Develop an understanding of the processes, and technology in the area to better drive awareness of new products and technology in the business Communicate and collaborate with Service Providers, and third parties for required integration development Collaborate, and manage work; allocate work and review completed work Analyse product metrics and user behaviour Optimise user experience through UX/UI collaboration and experimentation Requirements and personal attributes Analytical and delivery-focused Ability to pay attention to detail Excellent communication (spoken and written) and facilitation skills Presentable, assertive, team player with leadership qualities Ability to deal with, communicate and manage change Experience working in an Agile environment Knowledge and Skills Product Development Competitor analysis and growth mind-set Business Architecture review and business process architecture implementation Feasibility studies and documentation of underlying business architecture Documentation reviews Personal Attributes Interpersonal savvy - Contributing through others Manages complexity - Contributing through others Plans and aligns - Contributing through others Optimises work processes - Contributing through others Turnaround time The shortlisting process will only start once the application due date has been reached.
