Job Description Sales Representative Pietermaritzburg Requisition ID: 4634 Job Location: Pietermaritzburg - Western Cape - South Africa Category: Sales and Marketing Job Type: Full Time Job Purpose The sales representative is expected to build strong customer relationships, identify new market opportunities, and stay updated on product and industry trends. The purpose is to drive sales by promoting and selling to customers, supporting them to achieve monthly and annual targets, and fostering market share growth for the branch. Sales & Business Development Identify, approach and frequently visit existing and potential customers Present and demonstrate agricultural machines and implements Develop and execute sales strategies to meet or exceed targets Market and assist customers with finance deal options and structures Compare different equipment models based on efficiency and long‑term cost savings Sales Targets & Performance Analysis Achieve monthly and quarterly targets to increase market share Provide accurate forecasting in accordance with market segment trends and target market share Understand and explain financing options, interest rates, instalment plans and other relevant financing requirements to customers Customer Relationship Management Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers Provide after‑sales support and follow‑ups to ensure customer satisfaction Address customer concerns and provide solutions to their needs Continuously ensure a professional and effective service delivery to customers Product Knowledge & Technical Expertise Stay updated on the latest agricultural equipment usage, features and benefits Stay updated with the latest trends in technology Stay updated with precision farming trends and application in the mechanisation sector Sales Admin, Systems and Reporting Prepare quotations and proposals using SAP, Sales App and Microsoft Office programs Calculate profit margins and discounts accurately Load and maintain customer and visit details on CRM Ensure correct administrative procedures are followed to ensure deals’ successful completion Monitor stock on hand on a regular basis Ensure compliance with company policies and regulations Skills Required Strong negotiation skills Excellent communication and presentation skills Business systems and Microsoft Office skills Numerical skills Related Experience 3–5 years proven experience in sales, business development or account management, preferably in agricultural equipment Track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets Proven agricultural and technical knowledge; understanding of machinery and implements (minimum requirement) Experience working with tractors, combines or related machinery is advantageous Experience in building and maintaining relationships with farmers Sales or technical customer support experience Working on SAP or similar systems Experience on a customer relations program At least 2 years working with equipment financing deals Minimum Required Education Matric/Grade 12 (With minimum required experience) What We Offer Flexible work arrangements Savings and retirement benefits Tuition reimbursement Parental leave Adoption assistance Fertility and family‑building support Employee assistance programs Charitable contribution matching and volunteer time off We offer dynamic career opportunities across an international landscape.
