About the role We are seeking a Utilities Manager to support the Facilities Manager, specifically concerning the administration and management of utilities. What you will bring Inherent requirements for the position (non‑negotiable) Grade 12 with Accountancy as a subject 2‑5 years administration experience, preferably within a finance/audit or utilities environment with knowledge of building utilities Additional demonstrable requirements Communication Strategic planning Emotional intelligence Customer and quality focus Change management Problem‑solving and decision‑making Finance and business acumen What you will be doing Resolve queries relating to utilities with the relevant municipalities. Report on energy management and consumption in the portfolio for the sustainability report. liaise and negotiate with distributors and regulatory bodies relevant to the portfolio regarding billing issues. monitor utilities procedures and compliance within the portfolio. scrutinise invoices and other documentation for accuracy and provide comments on remediation. review and audit all leases to ensure accurate billing in terms of: All utility charges per the lease; Including GLA, etc. manage the LPG supplier on site, including queries, COC updates and route requests. understand water and electricity supplies on site and manage alternatives and changeovers when required. tenant utility query liaison. electric and water company audits and communications. analyse all recoveries. BMS updates and upgrades on site. water & electricity meter tracking and list updates. manage telecommunication suppliers on site. ESKOM communication, contracts, and site contact.
