Job Title Senior or Lead EC&I Engineer Location Woodmead Primary Purpose (Role) The Senior or Lead EC&I Engineer will be responsible for engineering and discipline project activities related to concept, pre-feasibility, feasibility studies, EPCM, and EPC projects at DRA Projects. This role will involve design engineering, technical support, site support, commissioning, documentation and handover, mentoring, managing and coordinating EC&I team activities and deliverables, client interfacing, managing the EC&I budget and schedule, project reporting, and ensuring compliance with company and client procedures and standards (ISO). Main Functions Design Engineering Technical Support Site Support Commissioning Documentation and Handover Mentoring Managing and Coordinating EC&I Team Activities and Deliverables Client Interfacing Managing EC&I Budget and Schedule Project Reporting Ensuring Compliance with Company and Client Procedures and Standards (ISO) Key Performance Areas (Responsibilities) Engineering The Senior or Lead EC&I Engineer will be responsible for carrying out and/or managing innovative detailed designs for specific disciplines following good engineering practises. They will ensure that the discipline designs are in accordance with client and DRA standards and specifications, industry standards, and relevant legislation (quality of design). They will also provide an interface between disciplines, obtain and ensure (certified) design information received from vendors, contractors, and consultants is accurate and interfaces with other designs, ensure effective (peer) review and approval of discipline design, and continuously improve and implement lessons learnt, value engineering, fit for purpose and latest technologies. They will also be responsible for interfacing with internal and external design and drafting disciplines, providing discipline inputs for studies and proposals, leading and providing engineering support to the site construction team, leading and/or performing commissioning discipline activities, and managing the mark-up and back draughting of redline drawings. Operational Management Managing ECI project resources Managing ECI project schedule and budget/forecast Managing the transition of a project through its life‑cycle (PFS, DFS, execution) Ensuring that relevant project procedures are complied with Managing procurement and manufacturing of equipment Participating in the Total Safety Culture of DRA and site safety requirements Assisting with the commissioning Ensuring that relevant project reports are structured, accurate, completed timeously, and well presented Displaying proactive communication with the project team with respect to discipline interface and problem solving Displaying effective management of time Ensuring proper change management procedure is adhered to Assisting ECI management with career development planning of ECI team members Client Relations The Senior or Lead EC&I Engineer will ensure that all interactions with clients are conducted in a professional and respectful manner. They will keep clients informed and up to date on the status of project technical aspects and ensure that DRA remains the client's engineering service provider of choice. They will also liaise and co-ordinate with the client's discipline engineers to ensure adherence to project and client requirements and specifications. (10 years, Essential) Knowledge Areas Job Related Experience: Electrical engineering, Instrumentation engineering, Control engineering, Power Systems, Energy Systems (Essential). Design tools and software packages (Advantageous). Specialist in at least one discipline (E, C, or I) with working knowledge of the others.
