Mechanical Supervisor will execute and supervise all preventive and corrective mechanical maintenance through the Artisans and related employees, monthly/annual outages and overhauling work activities on plant mechanical equipment, safely, efficiently and effectively. Responsibilities Maintenance Execution & Planning Assigns and executes corrective maintenance jobs as directed by the Maintenance Manager Coordinates and supervises maintenance activities through CMMS (SAP) Supports execution of corrective and planned maintenance in line with the annual maintenance schedule Reviews work orders, verifies site requirements (safety, materials, manpower, services), and ensures optimal resource utilization Coordinates with the Maintenance Planner to prioritize, schedule, and assign daily jobs Ensures early preparation and readiness of all daily maintenance activities Leads mechanical maintenance activities during plant commissioning and startup Supervises, directs, and coordinates mechanical maintenance personnel in assigned areas Provides technical guidance for safe troubleshooting and repair activities Supervises subcontractors to ensure quality, safety, and workmanship during maintenance and shutdowns Ensures attendance and participation in daily toolbox talks Conducts daily job observations to ensure safe and correct work execution Records, Reporting & Systems Maintains maintenance logs, equipment history, records, and files for assigned areas Ensures daily updating of operating and maintenance logbooks Prepares maintenance reports and correspondence as required Maintains mechanical maintenance KPIs on a weekly basis Ensures calibration certificates for statutory tools are valid and up to date Identifies and controls hazards in assigned work areas Ensures environmental aspects are monitored and operational controls are followed Reports deviations in the Integrated Management System (IMS) Reports incidents, near misses, and emergencies promptly Maintains safety, quality, and housekeeping standards in workshops and job areas Conducts monthly audits of maintenance tools and artisan toolboxes Ensures safety representatives’ logbooks are properly maintained Attends monthly section safety meetings and statutory safety meetings chaired by Plant Management Identifies competency gaps among subordinates and implements corrective actions Conducts annual performance evaluations and manages quarterly performance contracts Compiles and manages personnel development plans Provides on-the-job training (OJT) and evaluates trainee performance Manages attendance, leave, overtime, rest periods, and standby rosters for mechanical artisans Ensures subordinates are trained and competent to perform assigned tasks Materials, Spares & Budget Control Maintains accurate spare parts inventory and equipment history Prepares purchase requisitions for spares and consumables within budget constraints Ensures availability of critical spares through coordination with stores Manages section budgets related to manpower, spares, and materials Controls stock holding, usage accuracy, and availability at all times Communication & Coordination Maintains effective communication with the Maintenance Manager on job progress and technical issues Attends daily production meetings and other coordination meetings as required Supports project teams by providing mechanical input to improve safety, accessibility, and maintainability Attributes Strong awareness of Quality, Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S), and Environmental Management Systems principles Sound knowledge of applicable legal and regulatory requirements Competent in Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA) Experienced in Environmental Aspect and Impact Assessment Knowledgeable in waste identification, classification, handling, and disposal procedures Familiar with emission monitoring requirements and practices Proven ability to lead and supervise a maintenance team Excellent communication skills in English (written and verbal) Computer literate with proficiency in standard office applications Ability to use SAP as an end user Who will fit Minimum of 5 years of experience in Mechanical Maintenance in power generation plants. N6, Trade Tested (Qualified) Mechanical Artisan OR any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
