IVANPLATS (Pty) Ltd, a subsidiary of Ivanhoe Mines, is advancing the development of its world-class palladium‑rhodium‑nickel‑copper‑gold project in the Limpopo Province near Mokopane. This unique mineral deposit will be exploited using large mechanised state‑of‑the‑art underground mining methods, deploying the latest technology to develop this “mine of the future”. Suitably qualified and experienced candidates are invited to apply for the following vacancies required for the project development. Minimum qualifications and skills Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Materials Management or related field. Strong understanding of inventory control systems and processes. Experience working with ERP systems (e.g. JDE, SAP or similar). Experience in managing high‑volume and high‑value materials environments. Work experience requirements Minimum 5‑8 years’ experience in materials control, stores or inventory management within mining, construction or industrial environments. Materials Receiving and Verification Oversee the receipt of all materials allocated to community construction activities. Verify quantities, specifications and condition of materials received. Ensure all materials are properly recorded and matched to purchase orders and delivery documentation. Identify discrepancies and escalate where required. Materials Storage and Control Ensure materials are stored in a structured, secure and organised manner. Implement controls to prevent damage, deterioration or loss of materials. Maintain clear segregation between different contractors, projects and material types. Ensure high‑value and critical materials are adequately secured. Materials Issuing and Tracking Control the issuing of materials to contractors based on approved requests and work requirements. Ensure all material movements are properly documented and authorised. Maintain accurate records of material issued, returned and consumed. Track material usage against project scope to identify inefficiencies or abnormal consumption. Integration with Stores and Supply Chain Work closely with the Stores team to ensure alignment of inventory and material availability. Coordinate replenishment requirements based on consumption patterns. Ensure all material transactions are captured accurately within the relevant systems (JDE or equivalent). Support standardisation of material control processes across all work areas. Rotables and Salvage Yard Integration Ensure that reusable components and rotables are properly managed and tracked. Coordinate with the salvage yard to recover usable materials and components. Ensure materials removed from equipment are correctly accounted for and either returned to stores, repaired or scrapped in line with procedures. Support optimisation of asset utilisation by reducing unnecessary procurement of new materials. Contractor Management and Compliance Ensure contractors follow proper material request and usage procedures. Prevent unauthorised withdrawal or misuse of materials. Educate contractors on material control processes and accountability requirements. Monitor contractor behaviour to identify risks relating to misuse or inefficiency. Cost Control and Waste Management Monitor material usage against planned quantities and budgets. Identify areas of excessive consumption, wastage or inefficiency. Support Quantity Surveyors and Construction Manager in controlling material‑related costs. Implement corrective actions to reduce waste and improve efficiency. Risk Management and Governance Identify risks relating to material losses, theft, misuse and poor control. Implement preventative controls to mitigate these risks. Ensure full audit trail for all material transactions. Support internal audit requirements and compliance reviews. Escalate any irregularities or suspicious activities immediately. Preference will be given to Historically Disadvantaged South Africans (HDSA) from local communities surrounding Ivanplats Platreef mine and Women.
