Reservations Consultant for the Direct Market Location Cape Town (Office-based) Required Skills & Experience Minimum 2 – 3 years' experience in reservations, hospitality sales, luxury travel, tourism. Proven ability to convert enquiries into confirmed bookings. Strong consultative sales skills with a customer‑centric approach. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organisational skills and exceptional attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple enquiries and priorities simultaneously. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and reservations/CRM systems. Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently. Advantageous Experience within luxury hospitality, safari lodges, river cruises or tour operating. Knowledge of Southern African travel destinations. Familiarity with the Chobe River region, Botswana and Victoria Falls. Experience working with ResRequest, Zoho or similar tourism platforms. Purpose of the Role The Direct Reservations Consultant is responsible for managing and converting direct guest enquiries across the Zambezi Queen Collection portfolio, including the Zambezi Queen, Chobe Princesses and Ichingo Chobe River Lodge. The ideal candidate is passionate about travel, enjoys engaging directly with guests, and has a proven ability to convert enquiries into confirmed bookings whilst delivering exceptional customer service. Previous experience in luxury hospitality, safari tourism or destination sales is advantageous. Knowledge of the Chobe region and surrounding Southern African destinations would be beneficial. Key Responsibilities Manage all direct guest enquiries received via email, telephone, website, social media and referral channels. Respond promptly and professionally to enquiries, maintaining high service standards and response times. Engage with prospective guests to understand their travel preferences, expectations and requirements. Proactively follow up on all quotations and enquiries to maximise conversion rates. Process reservations accurately and efficiently, ensuring all booking information is complete and correct. Facilitate payment collection and ensure all reservation documentation is issued accurately and timeously. Maintain accurate records within reservation and CRM systems. Administration & Reporting Monitor and manage enquiry pipelines and booking statuses. Maintain accurate reservation, payment and guest records. Assist with sales, conversion and reservations reporting as required. Support after‑hours guest and reservation assistance when necessary.
