A leading renewable energy platform is seeking a commercially driven PPA Origination Lead to source and secure energy from Independent Power Producers (IPPs) across South Africa. This is a high‑impact, front‑end commercial role focused on Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) origination, negotiation, and execution, ensuring access to cost‑competitive, reliable energy supply aligned with business strategy. Role Overview The PPA Origination Lead will take ownership of energy sourcing activities, working closely with developers, IPPs, and internal stakeholders to structure and execute short‑and long‑term PPAs. You will play a key role in building a diversified portfolio of solar PV, wind, and battery storage assets, ensuring optimal commercial outcomes and long‑term value. Key Responsibilities Lead sourcing of energy through short‑and long‑term PPAs with IPPs (solar, wind, BESS) Support the development and execution of energy procurement strategy Identify and evaluate opportunities through partnerships and competitive processes Commercial Analysis & Deal Structuring Analyse pricing models, tariff structures, escalation mechanisms, and risk allocation Structure commercially viable transactions aligned with business objectives Provide clear commercial insights to support decision‑making Lead commercial negotiations with IPPs and developers Take ownership of deal progression from origination through to agreement signature Secure favourable commercial positions while managing risk exposure Stakeholder & Relationship Management Build and maintain strong relationships with IPPs and development partners Collaborate closely with internal teams across legal, finance, and capital Prepare and present investment materials for internal approval processes Project Coordination & Delivery Coordinate transaction workstreams to ensure timely execution of PPAs Manage internal and external stakeholders throughout the deal lifecycle Ensure contractual, regulatory, and compliance requirements are met Degree in Engineering, Law, Business, Finance, or related field 3–6 years’ experience in the renewable energy sector Demonstrable experience working with or understanding GPPA / PPA contracts Strong commercial acumen and understanding of energy markets #J-18808-Ljbffr
