Purpose of the Role The Linkage Officer / Driver will play a key role in supporting the implementation of the AYP (Adolescent and Young People) Programme, which focuses on HIV prevention among AGYW (Adolescent Girls and Young Women) and ABYM (Adolescent Boys and Young Men) aged 15–24, in and out of school. The incumbent will be responsible for transporting clinical teams to service sites, supporting service delivery logistics, and ensuring that young clients are effectively linked to health and psychosocial services. Duties and Responsibilities Drive clinical teams and programme staff to outreach sites across the district for service delivery. Assist in setting up service stations and provide logistical and administrative support during outreach. Support HIV testing services and ensure proper documentation of programme activities. Collect and deliver health commodities and medical specimens between sites and clinics. Ensure vehicles are properly maintained, fueled, and serviced on time. Report any mechanical issues or defects promptly. Maintain and submit accurate vehicle logs, petrol slips, and service receipts. Mobilise young people for enrolment into the programme through advocacy and awareness. Plan and implement support interventions for the sexual partners of adolescents and young people aged 10–24. Facilitate successful linkage to care for HIV-positive clients and those needing SRH, psychosocial, or other health services. Conduct follow-ups and tracing of clients who miss appointments or default from care. Adhere to Department of Health, Show Me Your Number, and Global Fund standard operating procedures and guidelines. Ensure accurate and timeous reporting of all activities and maintain proper documentation through approved tools, including biometric systems. Build and maintain strong relationships with community stakeholders. Support the broader team in achieving project goals and targets. Minimum Requirements Grade 12 or equivalent. Trained in HIV counselling and testing, with at least 2 years’ relevant experience. Valid, unendorsed Code 10 driver’s licence (PDP will be an added advantage). Experience working with adolescents, youth, and children in community settings. Good written and verbal communication skills in English and relevant local languages. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment. No criminal record or listing on any sexual offences register.
