Job Spec The role of an Oracle PL/SQL Developer is a specialized engineering position focused on building, maintaining, and optimizing the "brain" of an application—the database. Job Brief We are looking for a highly skilled Oracle PL/SQL Developer to design and implement efficient database solutions. You will be responsible for developing complex stored procedures, optimizing queries for high performance, and ensuring data integrity across our enterprise systems. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of Oracle architecture and a passion for clean, scalable code. Key Responsibilities Database Development: Design and develop database objects, including tables, views, indexes, and constraints. Programming: Write and maintain sophisticated PL/SQL code using Packages, Stored Procedures, Functions, and Triggers. Performance Tuning: Analyze and optimize slow-running SQL queries using tools like Explain Plan, SQL Trace, and TKPROF. ETL & Integration: Build and manage Data Migration/ETL processes to move data between disparate systems and data warehouses. Security & Integrity: Implement data security measures, including encryption and access controls, to safeguard sensitive information. Collaboration: Work closely with Java/.NET developers and Business Analysts to translate functional requirements into technical database designs. Technical Requirements Core Languages: Mastery of SQL and PL/SQL. Familiarity with Java, Python, or Unix Shell Scripting is often required for modern integration. Oracle Versions: Experience with Oracle 12c, 19c, or 23c (on-premise and Autonomous Cloud). Tools: Proficiency with IDEs such as Oracle SQL Developer, TOAD, or PL/SQL Developer. Modeling: Understanding of Relational Database Design and tools like Oracle SQL Developer Data Modeler.
