Ref No.: TRG 2137 Salary: TCTC = South African Market related basic + M/Aid + Pension + Retention Allowance (avail/neg) TBC Start Date: As soon as possible An opportunity for an experienced CONTROL, AUTOMATION & INSTRUMENTATION ENGINEER is required for permanent employment based in SA Projects. Duties & Responsibilities To undertake projects of all sizes and technical complexity from conception, costing and design to completion. Assist in technical support to other business units on all aspects of automation. Good, honest and constructive interaction with all potential and existing company customers at all times, to promote the company business interests and uphold the company’s good image. Compose tenders and quote on possible work which may require customer visits and interaction to understand requirements and find good engineered solutions. Mentor junior staff in technical solutions. Additional Duties All size Project Development from concept to completion. Electrical and Instrumentation Designs for projects, namely drawings, diagrams, and all related documentation. Implement and practice good quality control in terms of the company’s Technologies ISO standards. Document control both administrative and project related. Conduct self-research on technical issues and new technologies. Provide technical assistance to younger engineers and technicians. Manage quotations and tenders, and support Contracts pursuit, Business Development, and sales. Self-manage projects on technical and commercial aspects. Interact with customers on behalf of the company in a professional manner. Conceive practical and technical solutions to customers. Solve technical issues and fault-find through problems. Onsite commissioning of systems. Travel when necessary. Willing to work overtime when required. Dedication to project deadlines and self-management of tasks and functions. Undertake site supervision on any size projects. Display professionalism and uphold the company’s good image with customers and the public. Implement and understand automation, drives, and instrumentation. Comply with all the company’s Technologies policies and procedures. System Experience, Background and Requirements Implement knowledge on ABB products focused on Drives, Instrumentation, and Automation to technically support departments and customers in design, development, and implementation. Gain knowledge and competency in instrumentation and drives in fault-finding, implementation, design, and commissioning. Experience in Electrical Hardware and software design, development, implementation, and commissioning. Manage own projects or at least in part managed own projects and done development of system from start. Demonstrate good development cycle knowledge, practices, and implementation. Travel will be required. Desired Experience & Qualification Electrical Engineering Diploma or S4 in Process, Instrumentation, Digital Systems or equivalent. Work experience minimum 3 to 5 years, within a Projects environment preferable.
