Job Overview We are looking for a Senior Azure Cloud Engineer with strong Microsoft Azure foundations and a practical understanding of how modern applications and workloads operate in the cloud. This role is suited to an engineer who is comfortable working across cloud infrastructure, security, networking, and platform services, while also being able to engage with development teams on workload modernization, migrations, resiliency, scalability, and operational best practices. The ideal candidate should have solid Azure engineering experience, a good understanding of cloud-native and traditional application patterns, and the ability to support secure, scalable, and well-governed Azure environments. Key Responsibilities Design, implement, and support Azure cloud environments aligned to best practices. Build and support Azure landing zones and well-structured cloud environments. Implement and support Hub-and-Spoke network architectures. Configure and manage: Virtual Networks (VNets) Network Security Groups (NSGs) Route Tables VPNs / ExpressRoute Support multi-subscription environments and workload separation strategies. Apply governance concepts using: Management Groups RBAC Resource Locks Understand workload isolation using subscriptions, resource groups, and tenant separation principles. Identity & Security Implement and manage Azure IAM and Microsoft Entra ID integrations. Apply least privilege access principles using RBAC and Privileged Identity Management (PIM). Support identity federation and enterprise authentication patterns. Implement secure networking and workload protection strategies. Support secrets and certificate management using Azure Key Vault. Assist with cloud security posture management and remediation activities. Compute, Data & Platform Services Strong working knowledge of Azure services including: Azure Monitor and Log Analytics Azure Backup and Site Recovery Ability to: Select appropriate Azure services for workloads. Understand workload sizing and scalability considerations. Implement resilient and highly available architectures. Modernization & Software Engineering Alignment Work closely with development teams during cloud migrations and modernization initiatives. Understand application architectures including: Monoliths Microservices APIs Understand software engineering fundamentals including: Infrastructure as Code DevOps practices Assist with workload assessments and modernization planning. Identify opportunities for cloud-native adoption and operational improvements. Required Skills & Experience Technical Experience 5+ years of experience in cloud engineering, infrastructure engineering, or platform engineering roles. DBT (data build tools) is an essential requirement. Strong hands‑on experience with Microsoft Azure. Good understanding of: IAM and security Governance Resource organization strategies Experience implementing or supporting Hub‑and‑Spoke architectures. Experience with Infrastructure as Code: Terraform Bicep ARM Templates Experience with CI/CD tooling such as: GitHub Actions Familiarity with containerization and Kubernetes concepts. Strong troubleshooting and operational support capabilities. Software & Workload Awareness Understanding of application hosting models and modernization approaches. Ability to engage with software engineering teams and understand workload requirements. Familiarity with: REST APIs Distributed systems concepts Observability and monitoring patterns Exposure to migration and modernization projects. Preferred Experience Experience working in regulated or enterprise environments. Experience working in hybrid cloud environments. Exposure to AWS or GCP is advantageous. Experience with Well‑Architected Framework reviews. Understanding of resilience, disaster recovery, and operational readiness practices. Certifications (Preferred) Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert Azure Security Engineer Associate Terraform Associate (advantageous) Personal Attributes Strong problem‑solving and analytical thinking. Comfortable working across infrastructure and application domains. Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Ability to mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering standards.
