Role Overview Johannesburg, South Africa | Posted on 06/05/2026 The role of Finance Manager is responsible for overseeing the complete accounting function of the Freedom Recruitment Group companies, ensuring that all necessary accounting is carried out to produce accurate management information. The role includes responsibility for the following companies within the group. The accounts are maintained on Sage 50. An overview of the responsibilities on a daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly basis are set out below. The role involves detailed work across all companies above, and the specific information in relation to this is set out below. The key part of the role is ensuring that all day-to-day accounting matters are carried out as required, and dealing with matters as they arise so that the financial information is accurate. While much of the role involves specific matters, the most important part of the role is having an overview at all times across the group companies, and dealing with matters as they arise. Ensuring that all invoices have been correctly allocated and coded, reviewing the nominal ledger, and making journal adjustments if required. Dealing with supplier payments. Dealing with ad-hoc queries as they arise in relation to financial and related administrative matters. Checking and posting of recurring transactions on Sage. Raising invoices in relation to inter‑company recharges and management charges. Managing fee sale invoices for all placements, checking and ensuring they are allocated correctly to all businesses and posting to Sage. Managing aged creditors and supplier reconciliations. Monthly Responsibilities Posting journals in respect of monthly payroll. Posting monthly journals in relation to depreciation, accruals, prepayments, and other month‑end journals. Reviewing the nominal ledger and making journal adjustments if required, in relation to mis‑posted transactions. Preparing and checking month‑end balance‑sheet reconciliations for accruals and prepayments. Ensuring all inter‑company recharges have been completed and preparing an inter‑group reconciliation across all group companies. Ensuring correct departmental allocation of income and costs in relation to Freedom Recruitment Capital Ltd and Freedom Recruitment RN Ltd. Preparing monthly management accounts for Freedom Recruitment Capital Ltd and Freedom Recruitment RN Ltd. Preparing departmental accounts for Freedom Recruitment Capital Ltd and Freedom Recruitment RN Ltd to show profitability for client companies (currently about 60 companies). Executing month‑end closedown and backup. Quarterly Responsibilities Preparing quarterly accounts for all companies, incorporating profit and loss accounts and balance sheets.
